Inspired Giving gifts are unrestricted and allow the Museum to identify where the gift is most needed and will have the most impact for the future of the Museum and the community we serve. These gifts come in all sizes and for various reasons, just like our visitors.

Investments to Inspired Giving will improve children’s lives, education systems and the quality of life and vitality of the communities we serve by:
Providing an environment that promotes healthy physical, cognitive, and social development through hands-on, open-ended learning experiences.
Encouraging parental involvement in a child’s educational journey through our informal and unstructured environment that celebrates the parent as a child’s first teacher - Improving school readiness and social and academic success.
Acting as a resource to our educational community for hands-on curriculum enhancing programs; University faculty and student research; opportunity for volunteerism and internships; and innovative class projects.
Serving as a means to celebrate a family member or friend through a honor or memorial gift to the Children’s Discovery Museum.
Expand Our Reach Scholarship Campaign
The Children’s Discovery Museum is committed to bringing the joy of the Museum to all children and families regardless of their ability to pay. To eliminate this barrier for those who need it most, the Children’s Discovery Museum has developed Expand Our Reach Scholarships.
The fund underwrites:
Cost of admission for qualifying schools and families
Scholarships for camp fees
Discounted family and social service agency memberships
To maintain a Museum filled with impactful and engaging exhibits, the Children’s Discovery Museum is continually upgrading, adding and enhancing our exhibit galleries.
The Exhibit Replacement Fund is used to underwrite the cost of next generation exhibits and to repair and upgrade well-loved and well-used exhibits.
Our current exhibit master plan for 2011 through 2015 includes:
Replacement of Oh Rubbish with “You’ve Got the Power”
Our Toddler Backyard will be expanded and become “My Great Backyard”
Revamp of Inside Me and Kids Clinic to a newer and better “Healthy Me”
