Pre-School Camps

Age: 4-5 years
Time: 9:30am – 11:30am
Cost: $30 members/$35 non-members
Preschool camps are themed around a topic and include music and movement activities and play centers such as blocks, play dough, art, puppets, and dramatic play.  View the flyer


Monday, June 26 & Tuesday, June 27

Learn about things that live in our backyards! We will get our hands dirty while constructing and planting miniature fairy or gnome gardens. Plus, build and decorate a simple tin can bird feeder.

Rescue Heroes

Monday, July 17 & Tuesday, July 18

Join us as we read Paw Patrol-Pups to the Rescue and Paw Patrol-Ice Team and then test your skills to complete rescue challenges just like the pups and learn about community helpers!


Monday, August 7 & Tuesday, August 8

Discover what it’s like to be a paleontologist. Learn about dinosaurs and paleontology through a simulated dinosaur dig and other hands-on experiences.

Kinder Camps

Curious about Science

Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9

It’s time to get curious! Each day will start with a Curious George Discovers story, followed by hands-on activities related to the theme of the day. Topics will include: color and light, plants, the five senses, space, and recycling.

Fun with Food

Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28

Additional Materials Fee: $10
Does your child like to help in the kitchen? Learn how to make simple recipes, create artwork, and use food in science experimentation. Recipes include: ice cream in a bag, design your own trail mix, and mini pudding pies.

Camp Discovery

Cost includes camp, snack and materials. Payment must accompany registration. Registration deadline 1-week prior to camp. Camps fill quickly so register early. 72-hour cancellation required for credit. Bring a packed lunch or pre-order an Avanti’s lunch for $5. View the flyers

Kids Can Create!

Discover the magic of making! Kids will fire up their imaginations as they use physics, circuitry and basic construction to build and create projects while learning basic tool use. A Maker Camp partnership!

Theater Camp: Circus

It’s time to run away with the Circus! We will recreate a classic circus experience and showcase our talents in a “big top” performance on Thursday night at the Normal Theater! Using dance, theater, and voice talents, you will choose which circus performer best fits your skills. Participants will develop sewing skills for our costumes, art skills for our circus carnival sets, acting techniques for our performance, clowning skills, and face painting. The week will include a field trip to the ISU’s theatre and Milner Library to see their Circus Special Collections.

Grades: entering 2nd-6th

Harry Potter Camp

Journey back to Hogwarts and step into the wizarding world of magic! Join us for lessons in potions, herbology, divination and more. Create wizard wear and earn points to win the house cup.

Star Wars Camp

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…campers visit the Star Wars universe and pick your side – Sith Master or Jedi Knight? Learn the mysterious ways of the force, become highly trained in the use of light sabers and more!

Weather: A Force of Nature

Become a meteorologist as we use hands-on activities to predict the weather. Discover how tornadoes, thunderstorms and clouds are formed. Make your own weather instruments
to measure humidity, barometric pressure and more. Plus, enjoy visits to the National Weather Service off ice in Lincoln and The Science Storms exhibit at Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. This program is a partnership with ISU Physics Department and will be hosted at Moulton Hall.

Grades: entering 3rd-6th
Time: 9:00am-Noon or 1:00pm-4:00pm
Dates: Monday, July 24 through Friday, July 28
Cost: $100 museum members/$110 non-members (includes $25 field trip fee)


Join staff from ISU’s Center for Math, Science and Technology (CeMaST) for a week filled with amazing activities to spark your imagination and curiosity. Use STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to design and create your own projects.
