The CDM is Accessible
The Children’s Discovery Museum welcomes all visitors, and people with disabilities easily experience most areas of the Museum.
-
Doors: The main entrance of the Museum offers accessible doors equipped with push-button controllers.
-
Restrooms: All museum restrooms are accessible and are located on each of our three floors.
-
Elevator: Each floor can be accessed by the first-floor elevator located in the south-east corner of the Museum.
-
Museum Exhibits: Great care was taken to ensure that a majority of exhibit areas are accessible. In addition, we provide exhibit experiences that raise awareness of different abilities, such as sign language puzzles, etc.
-
Drinking Fountains: Accessible drinking fountains are located near the restrooms on all three floors of the Museum.
-
Parking: Handicapped spaces are available in the parking lot to the east of the Museum behind Emack & Bolio. Additional spaces can be found in the Parkinson Public Parking Lot nearest the Amtrak Train Station.
-
Policy: The Town of Normal's Americans with Disabilities Act Policy as well as ADA request and grievance forms are available on the Town's Americans with Disabilities Act page.
Should you have questions or require assistance, please ask a Museum staff person.
