Fetch Summer Schedule
Here is the schedule of activities for the Museum’s FETCH!™ Lab.
Activities will take place on the second floor of the Museum daily
at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and at 1 p.m. on Sundays. Activities are free
with paid admission of $4 per person ages 2 and above. Children
under the age of 2 are free.
June 7-15 “Ice Cream Shake"
Kids learn about the effects of heating and cooling as they change
liquid cream into solid ice cream. Yumm!
June 16-22 “All Wound Up”
Kids will use rubber bands to power a racecar and then race them
with others
June 23-29 “Blow it Away”
Kids build a car and use wind to see how far it can go!
June 30-July 6 “Float My Boat”
Kids investigate floating by building tinfoil boats and loading them
with pennies until they sink.
July 7-13 “Set it Straight”
Kids will build a tabletop seesaw and learn about balancing.
July 14-20 “Eat Like a Bird”
Kids explore how the shape of a bird’s beak influences the bird’s
food-gathering ability, and use their “beaks” to collect “food.”
July 21-27 “Train Your Brain”
Kids test their brains against homemade Stroop tests.
July 28-August 3 “Under Pressure”
Kids try to support a book with just one sheet of paper!
August 4-10 “Go Fly a Kite”
Kids will build kites out of household materials and explore how
kites use wind to overcome gravity.
August 11-17 “Rescue Mission”
Kids must design and test a hook to rescue a sunken capsule.
August 18-24 “Size it Up”
Kids will turn a small picture of Ruff into a large one, building it
one piece at a time.
August 25-31 “Hang Time”
Kids build and race simple helicopters.
September 1-7 “Stack Em Up”
Kids build towers as high as they can—out of paper cups!
