I Spy a North Pole Village
You’ll know it’s the holiday season when you step foot into the
North Pole Village gallery housed on the third floor of the
Children’s Discovery Museum.
What do you get when you mix a Penguin Visitors Center and Candy Cane
Corner with Dumpy’s Toy Trucks and the Yummy Gummy Gumdrop Factory?
You get a Dept. 56 North Pole Village!
Each year, local
collector John Morris (with help from the Normal Rotary) lends the
Museum his entire collection of Department 56 figurines and transforms
the 3rd floor Art Studio into a winter wonderland. And be sure to play
the fun I-Spy games that Museum staff organize to go along with it.
The North Pole Village is open Museum hours November 17 through early
January.
