Where to park in Uptown Normal
Uptown
Normal is
certainly a happening place to be. You can’t walk or drive
around this area without noticing many great projects that are
in the works. While all the progress will ultimately result in
new restaurants, a five-star hotel, new shopping destinations,
and a revitalized Uptown, there are certain growing pains that
must be dealt with in the short term.
A significant growing pain for Museum visitors
is the temporary lack of parking. Once the 20 odd spaces in the
lot immediately adjacent to the Museum and on-street parking
spaces are filled, we are directing visitors to the following
parking options:
·
There is
a small parking lot across the street from the Museum, directly
to the north. This lot offers two hour parking.
·
Parkinson Street Lot: This parking lot is adjacent to the Amtrak station
and has been designated as public parking and is especially
convenient to Museum visitors. Simply drive east on Beaufort;
turn right (south) on Linden, go over the
railroad tracks; and then turn right (west) on Parkinson St. The
public is welcome to park in any non-signed spaces for up to
three hours.

Coming
Summer 2008! A new 600 spot parking deck is due to open soon and
can be found north of the museum. Parking rates will apply –
stay tuned for details.
