the schedule of activities for the Museum’s FETCH!™ Lab. These
activities take place each day at 10 a.m. and are free
with paid admission.
April 27-May 2 Blow it Away
Construct a car, design a sail and discover how moving air makes it move!
May 4-9 National Lab Week
To celebrate May 7th as National Lab Day, join us all week in the FETCH Science Lab for various hands on lab activities and experiments!
May 11-16 Rescue Mission
Test out your design skills while you design and test a hook that will rescue a sunken capsule!
May 18-23 Motion Picture
Create a thaumatrope-an optical illusion toy that makes two pictures look like one.
May 25-30 Float My Boat
Investigate floating and sinking. Build a tinfoil boat and load it up with as many pennies as you can!
June 1- 6 Train Your Brain
Challenge your brain and experiment with optical illusions and the famous Stroop Color Test!
June 7-13 Hoop Gliders and Helicopters
Build simple gliders and helicopters and learn the science that surrounds flight.
June 14- June 20 Operation Espionage
Think like a detective while you learn how to write and decode secret messages.
June 21-27 What’s the Buzz?
Make an instrument that anyone can play-a kazoo-and get the buzz on sound vibrations.
June 28- July 4 Screaming String Thing
What a racket! Turn an ordinary cup and string into a screeching, squawking sound machine.
July 5- July 11 Ice Cream Shake
Investigate the effects of heating and cooling and turn liquid milk into solid ice cream right before your eyes.
July 12- July 18 Straw Oboes and Harmonicas
Make some music and construct oboes and harmonicas out of simple materials!
July 19- 25 Motion Picture
Create a thaumatrope-an optical illusion toy that makes two pictures look like one.
July 26- August 1 Toy Chemistry
Mix up some simple ingredients to create a bouncy, stretchy, goopy polymer!
August 2- August 8 Blow it Away

August 16- August 22 What Gives?
Learn about engineering and design and test a strong, supportive bridge out of simple materials.
August 23- August 29 Rescue Mission
Test out your design skills while you design and test a hook that will rescue a sunken capsule!
