Family Paint Night

Make a date with your family at the museum for a fun- filled night of painting!

Art Around You: Exploring Contemporary Art in the Community



Visit University Galleries and participate in a scavenger hunt to help you discover the style and media used to create works of art. Then return to the museum where you will explore these styles and media as you create your own art.

Unity Science Night 


Join teens from Unity Community Center as they teach you about various STEAM topics.

Prairie Fire Theater Show: Baobob


Enjoy a FREE performance of Baobob. This funny but heartfelt opera features short selections from classical music repertoire presented in a way children love. The audience will also learn a couple of hints on writing their own stories.

Growing Up Wild! 

Master Naturalists are members of our local community that love nature! The mission of the University of Illinois Master Naturalist Program is to provide science-based educational opportunities that connect people with nature and help them become engaged environmental stewards. These activities will help children connect with nature and develop an appreciation for our world’s limited natural resources.

Cost: Free with Registration

Wiggling Worm:


Children learn about and observe earthworms including what they eat, how they move and create worm trail paintings.

Date: Saturday, June 30
Age: 3- 4 years old
Time: 9:30 – 10:00 am

Age: 5-7 years old

Bird Beak Buffet:


Children learn about the special functions of bird beaks using household utensils and common foods, by creating with art, music and math.
