Posted on March 6, 2020 at 5:44 PM by Rachelle Cantero
As news continues to develop concerning the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Children’s
Discovery Museum would like our visitors and members to know the steps our professional staff
takes every day to protect the health of our guests.
With robust support from the award-winning
Town of Normal Facilities Management team
follow best practice standards and processes for cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection of all
surfaces. This includes exhibit areas, eating areas, bathrooms, any common space, and all loose
items such as toys, vehicles, play-food, and costumes.
We also provide:
• Hand sanitizer stations located throughout the Museum
• Yuck Box containers for toys that might have been placed in a mouth are located
throughout the Museum and are cleaned with professional disinfectant before they are
returned to the Museum floor for play.
While we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our Museum, these practices do not guarantee
against sickness. If you or your child are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please visit the
Museum another day. Thank you for understanding.
