Children’s Discovery Museum offers Reindeer Riddles to shop small, win big!

Normal, IL – December 1, 2020 – As many holiday traditions look a little different this year, the Children’s Discovery Museum has teamed up with Santa’s reindeer to present a social distance friendly way to play that supports the Museum and small businesses in Uptown Normal, and offers the opportunity to win $500 cash. Reindeer Riddles is a holiday activity for families young or old, adults, friends, couples...everyone can enjoy the fun!

To play, participants purchase their official Reindeer Riddles game card from the Children’s Discovery Museum for $15 any time during the month of December. Participating Uptown Partners locations will feature a branded Reindeer Riddles stop. Participants visit each location to view and solve each riddle found in the store windows. Once a riddle is solved, write the corresponding answer on the game card. Participants can earn up to 5 additional entries by making 5 individual purchases of $10 or more at a participating Uptown Partners location. Each receipt verifying a purchase earns a Reindeer Riddles Stamp on the game card for an additional entry for the cash prize. The Uptown Partners location will stamp the card at the time of purchase. A participant can earn up to 6 total entries in the drawing.

Once a participant has completed their riddles, they will submit the completed card to the Museum by January 11, 2021, to be entered to win the $500 Grand Raffle Prize sponsored by the Uptown Partners. The winner will be announced on January 12, 2021.

Funds from this event are much needed as the CDM experiences a dramatic loss of revenue from its doors being closed due to COVID-19. The Museum has been closed for nearly 250 days but has still served nearly 30,000 kids this year through STEAM kits, Daily Dose of Play, and remote opportunities such as the re-imagined Day of Play.

“Thanks to support through fundraising events like this, our nonprofit foundation can continue to fund this important work while we endure the effects of the pandemic,” said Ben Harmon, Chair of the Children’s Discovery Museum Foundation. “Thank you for helping the Children’s Discovery Museum achieve our mission of Inspiring the Love of Learning through the Power of Play. Too many children are going to have fewer playful learning opportunities once winter sets in. We can help change that!”
